Your Gateway to the White River System

"Seasons on the White Outfitters" has long been the White Rivers system premier guide service. Steve Stinnett has been fishing the rivers and lakes of northern Arkansas for 45 years and provides the knowledge and experience to offer you a fishing trip of a lifetime.
The White River system offers 3 of the best trout rivers in the USA. The White, Norfork and North Fork of the White. The White River boast over 100 miles of clear cold trout water. The average Brown is 20" and the Rainbows offer a bounty of good times.. The Norfork River offers 4.6 miles of some of the best trout fishing found anywhere and the North Fork of the White located in Southern Mo is our freestone stream. Wild Rainbows and large Browns are plentiful in a serene wild environment.
Currently the flows on the White and Norfork have been nonexistent a great time to drift & wade all your favorite places. Even though I love to wade fish I am concerned about the duration of the lower flows. As our day time temps reach the 80's the water temperature will increase dramatically down stream. Causing the trout to be stressed and possible dying. Last year the US Congress passed the minimum flows legislation and currently they are working on the Norfork dam. The work should be completed by October to where they can institute MF. As for the Bull Shoals dam I understand work there should commence early next year with MF coming on line by late summer of 2013.
We had the pleasure to have Dr. Stuart Leon speak last Saturday regarding the future outlook of our Federal hatcheries system. I was not able to attend so I can't report on the actual meeting. However, this is a system that must be kept in place and the federal govt is responsible for continued funding. It is their equitable duty to provide as Mitigation for the loss of native species a uncompromising source of live Trout.
